This section is all about the “little doubt that media texts affect audiences; what that effect is, and how it happens, is open to considerable doubt.” People tend to argue that individuals involve their emotions, or it's because of the social science of the whole concept. The author discusses several theories to this point. For instance, the mention of the effects debate was brought up and moral panics were introduced which coordinates with people’s emotions in a social situation.
