In case there are troubles while listening to my video, here is the transcript: Slide 1: Good afternoon, I’m May Abiri. My candidate number is 2000 and center number is UX438. Today I will be discussing my critical reflection questions that have been answered throughout the year. Slide 2: For the first question, it states “How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?” It is known that when you go to college, you will gain a little bit of weight because you aren't living like how you used to. With a different lifestyle, it is likely your eating style might change as well, leading to people gaining more weight. So, in my magazine, there would be articles that help you keep you fit by providing you with fitness exercises and healthy alternative foods. More specifically, my magazine targets individuals in college which challenges the stereotype that people in college gain weight. My magazine could represent fitness groups in college who are trying to stay fit. There could be clubs on campus that make healthy foods and exercises together. This is not only a way for young adults to bond, but it also keeps their bodies fit and healthy. The picture on the right is a cycle of a college students 15 week stay where they gain additional weight. Then, I included a scale at the bottom to show that it is a conventional challenge. Slide 3: My next question is “’How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?” My product engages with audiences because if grasps their attention if they are in college seeking for an exercise group or just want to know any recipes that they can make healthy foods. My magazine cover can attract the eyes of individuals who might just want to try something new so they pick up my magazine and start to look at all the different exercising options or foods they can learn to make. My product is distributed by a online magazine as a real media text. I would publish my articles into my magazine that readers can find on an online browser. I will also advertise my magazine on social platforms such as Instagram and TikTok. Slide 4: Next, the question is “How did your production skills develop throughout this project? Explain research, using different applications, layout and design of your magazine or video.” During my work on this project, my production skills developed significantly. I was able to learn how to use websites and other great tools that help make my magazine look attractable. Additionally, I learned what seem to catch an audience's eye and what color go well together on a cover page. Also, by using new applications, my intelligence on using computer programs broaden which allowed me to be more effective in all my classes. Even when I want to help my peers and family in school projects or huge tasks for jobs, my development in using new layouts and designs, it allowed for me to grow drastically. As you can see on this slide, there is an image of my magazine cover and two-page layout where I incorporated my new abilities of having such a great appearance. Slide 5: The final question is “How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project?” In this project, I integrated other technologies by using online tools to build up my article and magazine cover. For instance, photoshop and other apps to help create my pages were very useful in making my project look presentable. In addition, there were times where I never knew how to function a new tool I found online, however by utilizing it for my product, I really integrated these new technologies into my mind. For example, there are many different templates that I could use and different colors that I can use to switch up the way I wanted my product to appear. Slide 6: Thank you for listening and have a great day. And also, don’t forget that I have a full transcript on my blog if you have any difficulties

6. Discuss the issues raised in the targeting of national and local audiences by international or global institutions. There are several issues raised in the targeting of national and local audiences by international or global institutions. To start, one them deal with independent intuitions which creates a strong impact. For instance, they can't afford higher than the line marketing because of the low budgets which means that synergy can't be made leaving the film to miss out on potential audiences. Another way this concerns the audiences is that it only targets a specific type of audience because of the low amount of advertising and low budget which loses the bigger audience. Secondly, conglomerate institutions also play a major role dealing with the audiences targeted. This is because they are vertically and horizontally integrated and therefore can manage to have higher line advertising which than involves more corporations. March 7 2021
5. Discuss the ways in which the candidates’(this is you) own experiences of media consumption (how you use, access, and produce) illustrate wider patterns and trends in audience behavior. When learning about new video games, I tend to figure out new ways to work around new adaptions on how to use newer media platforms. For instance, when a new game comes out, there will be different buttons you need to learn to access certain aspects, which allows for wider patterns of attitude to present themselves within the audience's behavior. The way individuals learn to use each app always reflects back on their behavior as a trend because it's the task that's most significant to them in the moment. March 7 2021

Read the article: How the news changes the way we think and behave (Link is in the Modules) 2 Paragraphs; 4+ sentences each 1 on summary of the article 2 Agree or disagree; explain why you agree or disagree My Work: In the article "How the news change the way we think and behave", the author discusses the latest research which suggests that the news that the public watches shapes individual in shocking ways. The speaker enlightens the readers with the tragedy that occurred in Boston in 2013,but then explains how the news altered the footage. Additionally, the writer states other events that occurred where the media shifts the main purpose into having the audience believe in a different matter. Lastly, the speaker emphasizes how the news can shape our views on the events that are occurring such as immigration because it will let us have other opinions towards foreign countries. I agree with what this article is saying on the topic of how the news can shape people's views in surprising ways. I also agree how when there are certain debates such as immigration, the people then focus everything on that country. I agree with these statements because its true, the news is always trying to tell us fake news, so that's why certain news surprise individuals. More specifically, when the article says that the news shape the way individuals viewed the issue, it didn't surprise me because I saw it coming. |
